Testing for Truck Drivers
Since the early 1990s, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and its predecessor agency has defined drug and alcohol testing rules and regulations for employees who drive commercial trucks and buses that require a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
Testing for Schools and Students
Truck or bus driving schools/employers must include student drivers who possess CLPs or CDLs in the DOT testing program before such drivers operate commercial motor vehicles to complete their coursework to qualify as drivers.
Testing for Sports and Athletes
Random testing is the periodic, randomized selection of testing subjects from a pool of participating individuals. For example, in a Columbus sports league, all league members might be on the random steroid testing list, but only a handful would be randomly chosen for testing each Columbus testing cycle.
